Arkansas vs Oklahoma State Prediction & Betting Tips - September 7 | College football Week 2

Week 2 of the 2024 college football season is set to kick off on Friday. On Saturday, Sept. 7, the Arkansas Razorbacks will take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Kickoff is set for noon ET with the game televised on ABC.

Arkansas is coming off a 70-0 win over Arkansas-Pine in Week 1 while Oklahoma State won 44-20 over South Dakota State.

Arkansas vs Oklahoma State: Prediction

The Arkansas Razorbacks are a 7.5-point underdog on the road against Oklahoma State.

Arkansas was led by quarterback Taylen Green who threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns. The transfer quarterback from Boise State rejuvenated the Razorbacks offense in Week 1.

“It’s extremely exciting, this is one of the reasons you come to the University of Arkansas.” Green said on The Paul Finebaum show, via SI. “I would say Oklahoma State is a really great team. Really disciplined, really athletic.

“One thing we’re really focused on is doing our job — letting the rest take care of itself. We’re excited to be on the road, be the underdog. They’re ranked 16th in the country, it’s a great opportunity to show everybody what we have.”

On the other hand, Oklahoma State is led by running back Ollie Gordon II who rushed for 126 yards on 28 carries and three touchdowns. The star RB is the focal point of the Cowboys offense.

“This is a good matchup because it’s two hours and 45 minutes away," Cowboys coach Mike Gundy said in a press conference on Monday. "You have a lot of crossover with people. There’s a lot of Arkansas people that can live up here. There’s a lot of Oklahoma people that have migrated over there with Walmart and all that stuff, so I think it is good.”

This is the first time Arkansas and Oklahoma State will face off since 1980.

Both offenses are high-powered but the Cowboys are better in the trenches which should be the difference in this game. Gordon II should be able to have plenty of success on the ground and likely get a touchdown or two.

Ultimately, Oklahoma State will be able to edge out a win in what should be a high-scoring game.
