Army's quarterback Bryson Daily missed the Black Knight's last game, due to an undisclosed illness or injury. It's unknown if the signal-caller will be available for the upcoming Week 11. Due to his health issue, Dewayne Coleman started in the 20-3 victory over rival service academy Air Force.

Here's what coach Jeff Monken said about the situation at the time:

“He wanted to be a part of it, but he doesn’t realize what a big part of it he was today. The confidence he’s given this football team to get out and play like we did today is built off the success we had with him as our quarterback, he’ll get healthy, and he’ll be playing again.”

Daily has been instrumental in taking the Army to an 8-0 overall record, which gives them a serious chance of becoming the Group of Six invitee to the college football playoff later this year. At the moment there's no timeline for the return of Daily, although it isn't considered a season-ending injury.

If he isn't able to return to action this weekend against North Texas, Dewayne Coleman will have to suit up again for the Black Knights.

Bryson Daily's and Dewayne Coleman's stats for the Army in 2024

In 2024 Bryson Daily has thrown for 629 yards with seven touchdown passes and zero interceptions. This gives him a very good QBR of 89.5, which is ranked third among signal-callers.

However, his biggest contribution to the West Point offense has come in the running game. Daily has run for 909 yards with 19 touchdowns this season. That already beats his best running yardage, which was 901 yards in 2023.

Dewayne Coleman has thrown for 121 yards with one touchdown pass and no interceptions. He has also run for 136 yards with one rushing touchdown.

In Week 10's victory over Air Force, he threw 48 yards and ran for 42. He didn't do anything flashy, but his competent handling of the offense helped running back Kanye Udoh to run for 158 yards, with two touchdowns.
