This year, it's expected that President-elect Donald Trump will attend the event (His fifth, having attended the event in 2016 as President-elect and in 2018, 2019, and 2020 while in office).

The game will be played at Northwest Stadium in Maryland on December 14, starting at 3:00 p.m. ET and will air on CBS.

Army vs. Navy: Preview

About the current state of form of the schools, the Army has to be considered the favorite for the encounter. The Black Knights (11-1, 8-0 AAC) closed out the regular season as the No. 22 school in the nation (CFP). Their only loss was against then-No. 6 Notre Dame, one of the 12 schools selected for the college football playoff. They also beat Tulane, with a convincing 35-14 score, to win the AAC championship.

For some, the committee should have not skipped over the Army when selecting the 12 schools for the CFP. Instead, they'll be playing the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl against the Marshall Thundering Herd on December 28.

The Midshipmen ended the year with an 8-3 record, which helped them get an invitation for the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl against Oklahoma on December 27.

At the moment, ESPN is giving the No. 22 Army Black Knights a 66.0% chance of winning the game against the Navy Midshipmen. The players to watch are both quarterbacks, with the signal-callers of both schools being complete dual threats.

Army vs. Navy: Betting tips and prediction

The Army comes as a 6.5-point favorite for this encounter. The over and under is set at 40.5, while the money line is +195 for the Navy and -230 for the Army. There's one instance in which the Navy leads, and that is in their recent records against the spread.

In their last 10 matchups, the Midshipmen are 7-3 against the spread while the Black Knights are 1-4 in their last five. However, the Midshipmen are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 encounters against Army. Last year the Army won 17-11.

Army vs. Navy: Players to watch

Army's quarterback Bryson Daily has recorded 877 passing yards, with eight touchdowns and one interception. While those numbers don't seem very impressive, it's the running game that sets him apart. At the moment, he has 1480 rushing yards, with 29 touchdowns in 264 carries.

Navy's signal-caller Blake Horvath has had a similar year with better numbers in the passing game and slightly lower contribution on the rushing side. Horvath has 1154 passing yards, with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions this season. To that we have to add 895 rushing yards, with 13 touchdowns in 133 carries.
