Arthur Kaluma is a Ugandan-American collegiate basketball forward for the Texas Longhorns, as of 2024. He previously played for the Creighton Bluejays and the Kansas State Wildcats.

Initially attending Universal Academy, Kaluma was raised in Irving, Texas. Before his junior year, he moved to Glendale, Arizona to attend Dream City Christian School. A four-star recruit, Kaluma originally signed a National Letter of Intent to play for UNLV, but after head coach T. J. Otzelberger left, he was released. After considering offers from Syracuse, Arizona, and Western Kentucky, he finally decided to play collegiate basketball for Creighton in 2021.

Arthur Kaluma’s Career

Kaluma averaged 10.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game at the end of freshman season. He was on the Karl Malone Award watch list going into his sophomore season. He averaged 11.8 points, six rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game as a sophomore. Kaluma kept his eligibility and declared for the 2023 NBA draft after the season. He eventually pulled his name out of the draft after enrolling in the NCAA transfer portal.

Kaluma eventually relocated to Kansas State for the 2023-2024 season. As a junior, he participated in 33 games and made 32 starts. In addition to a team-high 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, Kaluma averaged 14.4 points on 42.7 percent (153-of-358) shooting, including 34.5 percent (51-of-148) from 3-point range. Additionally, he made 74.7 percent (118-of-158) of his free throw attempts.

According to his official Texas Athletics roster, Kaluma obtained Ugandan citizenship in 2020. He participated in AfroBasket 2021 as a member of the Uganda men's national basketball team. To participate in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers, Kaluma also joined the squad.
