Ashton Jeanty NFL Draft 2025: Top 3 landing spots for Boise State RB ft. New York Giants

Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty has become the talk of college football and has boosted his NFL draft stock. He has also entered the Heisman conversation.

Jeanty is in his third college season and can declare for the 2025 NFL draft, which at this rate does seem likely. The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner has Jeanty as his top-ranked running back and 25th-ranked prospect. He wrote:

"I have watched tape on almost 1,000 draft-eligible prospects so far this summer, but I can comfortably say Jeanty has been one of my favorites, because of the frequent magic acts he pulls with the football in his hands.

"The man hates to be tackled. Factor in his impressive receiving skills, and Jeanty has separated himself as my RB1 entering the 2024 season."

Although plenty could change with the draft order, team needs and more until April, here are three possible landing spots for Jeanty.

#1. New York Giants

The New York Giants saw Saquon Barkley leave in free agency and the team replaced him with Devin Singletary in free agency. However, Singeltary has struggled this season and the Giants could need a new starting running back next season.

The Giants will have a top pick, and it seems like Jeanty will go off the board in the early parts of the second round. The Giants could use their second-round pick to select Jeanty and he could come in and be the team's starter.

#2. Los Angeles Chargers

Ashton Jeanty has been the top running back in the nation and he is expected to be selected in the early parts of the second round, but could see himself drafted among the final picks of the first round.

The Los Angeles Chargers need to address their running back room as both Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins have not been the answer for LA so far. Jeanty could come in and be the team's starter and give Los Angeles another offensive weapon alongside quarterback Justin Herbert.

#3. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys desperately need to get an impact running back and Ashton Jeanty would be a good fit.

Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook have not looked like the answer this season and the Cowboys need to get a bona fide starter. Jeanty would add some much needed speed to the backfield, which in turn could help open up the passing game.
