The Auburn Tigers will take on the Texas A&M Aggies at home in Week 13 on Saturday. This is the team's second campaign under coach Hugh Freeze, and things are not looking great for the Tigers, who are still fighting to become eligible for this season's bowl games.
With just two games remaining in the regular season, the Tigers are 4-6 (1-5 in SEC), after last season's 6-7 campaign. If they lose to Texas A&M (8-2), Freeze could find himself in a tight spot regarding his future with the team. As such, who he starts at quarterback will be important.

Auburn Tigers' starting quarterback vs. Texas A&M Aggies in Week 13
Payton Thorne will continue his duties as the Tigers' starting quarterback against the Texas A&M Aggies. He has started every game this season and has thrown for 2,111 yards and 18 touchdowns, with seven interceptions. Last week during the team's victory over UL-Monroe, Thorne threw for 286 yards and five TDs.
Coming out of Naperville High School in Illinois, Thorne began his collegiate campaign with the Michigan State Spartans in 2019. After redshirting his freshman campaign, he served as the backup to Rocky Lombardi during the 2020 season.
He became the Spartans' QB1 in 2021 and spent two seasons as their starter. Thorne joined the Auburn Tigers last season and was named the starting quarterback after his arrival. He passed for 1,755 yards and 16 TDs in his debut campaign despite the team failing to make it to the bowl games.
Auburn's quarterback depth chart
Apart from Thorne, the Auburn Tigers have redshirt freshman Hank Brown, redshirt sophomore Holden Geriner and freshman Walker White in their QB depth chart.
Brown joined the Tigers last season and redshirted after making his only appearance during the Music City Bowl. He has seen limited time on the field this season, tallying 403 yards and six TDs passing.
Geriner has been with the Tigers since committing back in 2022. He saw limited time in the past two seasons and has made only two appearances this campaign, against Alabama A&M and New Mexico.
On the other hand, White, a 2024 recruit, made his debut last week in the win over UL-Monroe. He completed 2 of 5 passes for 18 yards.
