Coach Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame secured their College Football Playoff (CFP) national championship ticket after a dominant performance on Thursday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. They achieved a historic 27-24 victory over Penn State in the Orange Bowl, clinching their place in the 2025 CFP National Championship game.

Freeman led the team through a successful regular season, ending on a 10-game winning streak and defeating several teams ranked in the AP Top 25.

Despite their success, some fans voiced their dissatisfaction on X:

“That’s bulls*it, they had an easy path.”
“It’s crazy that between those 2 garbage teams that won of them is gonna be in the natty,” another wrote.
“Brainwashing! Sh*t is annoying,” a fan wrote.

“Beat a backup qb from UGA beat a midcore Indiana team And beat a washed pen state team these mfs are lucky asf,” another wrote.
“Beat SEC #1, B1G #2, and B1G #4. That's not luck, they're just better,” another wrote.
“God dang they are so trash. OSU will STEAMROLL them,” one wrote.

Nonetheless, Freeman and the Fighting Irish will compete in the national championship game on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET. They will face the Cotton Bowl Classic winner, Ohio State.
