Ball State vs. Buffalo: Preview
Ball State is a 4.5-point underdog on the road, while the over/under is set at 54.5 points.
The Cardinals have alternated losses and wins in their last five games as Ball State hasn't been playing consistent football. The loss last week was disappointing, as coach Mike Neu was frustrated with his team's performance.
“The disappointment, the dejection, the frustration, the emotion. Looking at the guys in the locker room was very, very difficult,” Neu said, via BallState Daily. “ … You look at their faces, and it’s tough to find the words to share with the guys in that situation.
“[I’m] frustrated and disappointed. It stings. It’s certainly not going to be easy tonight, but [I’ve] got to turn the page. There's only one way to do business, and that's to fight all the way till the end.”
Ball State has been led by Kadin Semonza, who has thrown for 2,029 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Braedon Sloan has rushed for 518 yards and four touchdowns, and Tanner Koziol leads the way with 629 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
The Cardinals are defensively led by Joey Stemler, who has two interceptions. Brandon Berger has five sacks, and Keionte Newson has 51 tackles.
Buffalo, meanwhile, snapped its two-game losing streak with a 41-30 win over Akron. The Bulls played well in the big road win and are now a win away from being bowl-eligible.
The Bulls are led by C.J. Ogbonna, who has thrown for 1,527 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. Al-Jay Henderson has rushed for 562 yards and four touchdowns, while Victor Snow has 424 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Buffalo is led by Shaun Dolac and Marquis Cooper, who have two interceptions. Kobe Stewart has 6.5 sacks, and Dolac leads the team with 120 tackles.
This should be a great MAC game, but at home, the Bulls should be able to get a big win here. Buffalo's offense is legit and should be able to score at will here, as Ball State has struggled to defend well this season.
The Bulls will get a big win at home on Tuesday to become bowl-eligible this season.
Prediction: Buffalo 31, Ball State 24
