Coleman started his football career at Linfield Christian School where he played in both left tackle and defensive end positions. He also served as the team captain for three seasons and recorded 115 tackles, 13.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in his sophomore and junior years. Coleman was ranked the No.64 player in the state of California by 247Sports and was rated a three-star prospect. Coleman embarked on his collegiate football journey with California Golden Bears despite receiving offers from Division I schools like Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Utah State, USC, UCLA and Washington.
