The college football season is in full swing as the calendar has now passed the halfway mark with Week 8 officially in the books.
The Big 12 has been playing great football over the first eight weeks of the season, as the 16 teams have a combined record of 67-45 and 33-11 in non-conference games. There were three Big 12 teams ranked in the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll.
The No. 10-ranked Iowa State Cyclones and No. 11-ranked BYU Cougars lead the way as both are 7-0 with a 4-0 mark in Big 12 play.
The Colorado Buffaloes were able to get back in the column and have already surpassed their previous season's win record under Deion Sanders.
Conference play remained in full force in Week 8 as all 16 Big 12 teams faced a conference opponent.
The expanded postseason field of 12 teams likely guarantees the conference at least one postseason seed.
