Eagles quarterback Thomas Castellanos threw two interceptions against the Cavaliers and their running game struggled. Boston College coach Bill O'Brien discussed what went wrong for his team in the postgame press conference.
"Awful, awful," O'Brien said after the game via SI. "Bad coaching, bad execution, combined. Awful. Give Virginia credit, they did a great job. We did not do a good job. Thank God we got 12 days before our next game, maybe we can get some things corrected. Bad all the way around."
"It doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. Gotta play 60 minutes. It's not a 30 minute game. It’s a 30 minute game? Great. It's not. It's 60 minutes."

Meanwhile, Virginia Tech snapped its two-game losing streak against Stanford. Despite the long road trip and time difference, Hokies coach Brent Pry was thrilled with his team's performance.
"Yeah, I thought that we did a nice job, again a lot of preparation went into it, a lot of phone calls, a lot of research down to the last detail," Pry said via SI.
"I thought the defense was tested you know, a couple of those drives, and the amount of plays they were on the field in the first half and I thought they persevered pretty well, their bodies were in a good place, we didn't have a ton of guys cramping up and I was pleased with the plan."
The Hokies are led by Kyron Drones who has thrown for 1,155 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions. Bhayshul Tuten has rushed for 605 yards and nine touchdowns while Jaylin Lane has 325 receiving yards.
On defense, Mose Phillips II has 38 tackles, Antwaun Powell-Ryland has seven sacks and Mansoor Delane has two picks.
Returning home after two road games, the Hokies are in a good position to get the win against a struggling Boston College team.
Virginia Tech is expected to get an early lead and hold onto it.
