Brady Cook started for the No. 21 Missouri Tigers in their Week 9 game against No. 15 Alabama Crimson Tide. Cook is in his senior season with the Tigers and is one of the team's foundational offensive players.
The St. Louis-born shotcaller exited the game after the first half. Let's take a look at his injury report following the Tigers' blowout loss.
Brady Cook's injury update
According to ESPN, Missouri's Brady Cook suffered a hand injury in the just-concluded 34-0 defeat to Alabama's Crimson Tide. Cook's head coach, Eliah Drinkwitz, spoke to ESPN and said that the star quarterback had undergone X-rays on the hand, and the team is awaiting the results.
It's important to note that this isn't the first injury issue that Cook has dealt with in 2024. In fact, the fifth-year QB was hurt in his side's last game against the Auburn Tigers. He injured his ankle early in the game but was able to make a return to lead them on a pair of game-sealing second-half TDs.
The clock is now ticking as to Cook's availability for the team's next game against Oklahoma University.
How has Brady Cook performed in 2024?
Cook has been solid and effective in the 2024 college football season. The senior-year QB has amassed a stat line of 1,545 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. He has amassed a 70.6 QBR in the process.
The most glaring part of the 2024 version of Cook is the reduction in interceptions. Cook is on pace to have his fewest interceptions thrown since he took over the starting job for the Tigers. Furthermore, he's on pace to surpass his rushing touchdowns record from last season. The Missouri Tigers fan base will hope that his injury isn't that serious as the team looks to make an unlikely playoff push.
