Brandon Johnson is an American college football player who has transferred to the Oregon Ducks for his final season of college eligibility. Johnson began his football career at Newton-Conover High School where he also lettered in track for three years and was the 100-meter dash champion. In his senior year, Johnson recorded 49 tackles including 36 solo tackles with three interceptions in 13 games. He also made 38 catches for 662 yards and six touchdowns on the offense. Johnson was ranked the No.29 cornerback in the nation by 247Sports. The three-star athlete from Newton embarked on his collegiate football journey with Duke Blue Devils and also received offers from top programs like Army, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Notre Dame, Kent State, Liberty, NC State, Northwestern, Tennessee, and Stanford.

In his freshman season, Johnson saw action in all 12 games and recorded 17 tackles and one fumble recovery on the year. The following year as a sophomore, Johnson excelled in the defensive back position and was the most improved player on the roster. He concluded the 2022 season with 56 tackles, 7.5 TFL, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. In 2023, Johnson was honored with Duke’s Defensive Skill Player of the Year award after recording 56 tackles, 8.5 TFL, 2.0 sacks, four PBU, and three QB pressures. With his vast experience as a regular starter in the ACC for three straight seasons, Johnson transferred to Oregon Ducks towards the end of the 2023 regular season. In his three-year career at Duke, Johnson complied 128 tackles, 16 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 11 pass breakups.
