He was born and raised in the city of San Diego in California and moved to Aledo, Texas. He attended the Aledo High School there and played under coach Tim Buchanan, as per his player profile with the Colorado Rams. In his senior year, he completed 114-of-171 passes for 2,051 yards with 24 touchdowns, one interception, and 92 yards on the ground rushing.

He has been named Mountain West Freshman of the Week twice once the Manning Award Star of the Week, won the Davey O'Brien Award Great 8, and earned honorable mentions in the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award twice and in the League All-Mountain West. With the Rams, Brayden has competed in 27 games, as of December 2024, where he made 81 rushing attempts for 62 yards. He completed 516 passes of the 842 attempted.
