Brett Gabbert, the American collegiate football player, is the Quarterback of the Miami RedHawks, as of December 2024. Gabbert is currently in his sixth year with the team. He attended the Christian Brothers College High School and helped the side win two state championships. At Miami, Gabbert became the starting quarterback in his true freshman season. In the season opener against Iowa, Gabbert completed 17 of his 27 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. In week eleven of the season, he helped his side win 44-3 against Bowling Green after he led them with a breakout game going nine for fifteen in passing for 225 yards and three touchdowns with an interception.
Gabbert was named the 2019 MAC freshman of the year, as he completed 175 out of his 316 passing attempts for 2,411 yards, and scored eleven touchdowns with eight interceptions. In the 2021 season, he secured 2,648 yards and 26 touchdowns while securing six interceptions. The following year, Gabbert started in four games as he missed the majority of the season due to a non-throwing shoulder injury. The St. Louis, Missouri native started the first eight games of the 2023 season and ended the year with 1,634 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. In the 2024 season, Gabbert started 39 games at quarterback for the Red and White, as of December 2024.
