Cameron Rising is a quarterback for the Utah Utes and will play as a senior in 2024. He is a native of Ventura, California, and graduated from Newbury Park High School. He was ranked a four-star recruit by both Rivals and 247Sports and was also ranked the No. 8 pro-style quarterback in the nation. Rising earned a spot in the All-CIF first-team twice in 2015 and 2017. He won the 2017 All-Camino League Offensive Back of the Year and received first-team all-county and all-league accolades for his impressive high school career. In 2015, Rising was named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American and Cal-Hi Sports Sophomore of the Year for throwing 3,213 yards and 40 touchdowns with one interception, setting a county record for consecutive attempts without an interception with 324. He also had 1,349 passing yards and 14 touchdowns despite suffering a season-ending injury as a junior. Rising also ran for 756 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore.
Cam Rising made a remarkable start to his collegiate journey, committing to the Utah Utes in 2018. Rising played a total of 30 games and made 28 starts, including 17 games with more than 200 passing yards, from which two games of 300 yards and one game of 400 yards. Rising is ranked fourth in the history of Utah Utes with 53 passing touchdowns and 65 total touchdowns and is placed fifth with most career wins with 20. His best season was in 2022 where he threw for 3,034 yards and 26 touchdowns with six rushing touchdowns. He received the MVP in the Pac-12 Championship Game, passing for 310 yards and three touchdowns. Rising also received an All-Pac-12 honorable mention while being a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien and Maxwell Awards. In 2022, his highest-scoring match against USC was when he made 415 yards passing with three rushing touchdowns, recognizing him as a top collegiate quarterback nationally.
