Cam Ward is a college football player for the Miami Hurricanes, as of December 2024. The quarterback was born on May 25, 2002, in West Columbia, Texas, U.S. The 6 ft 2-inch player attended and played football at Columbia High School. As a junior in high school, Cam Ward recorded 72 of 124 passes for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns.

As a high school senior, Ward averaged 12 pass attempts per game as he played in Columbia High's Wing T offense. Ward got his only scholarship offer from the University of the Incarnate Word and began his college football career. He started as the team's starting quarterback while he was in his freshman year. Ward passed for 2,260 yards and an FCS-leading 24 touchdowns against four interceptions. Additionally, he recorded two rushing touchdowns in six games.

Following Ward’s performance, he won the Jerry Rice Award as the most outstanding freshman in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision in 2020. The player also managed to bag Southland Freshman of the Year and was named in Third-team All-Southland which he also earned in 2021. Additionally, he won Southland Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.

Ward joined Washington State in the 2022 season. Although the player declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, he eventually decided to join Miami in the 2024 season where he won the ACC Player of the Year, ACC Offensive Player of the Year, and was named in 2024 First-Team All-ACC.
