Carnell Tate is a wide receiver for the Ohio State Buckeyes and will play as a sophomore in 2024. He hails from Chicago, Illinois, attended Marist High School, and prepped at IMG Academy. As a true freshman in 2023, he started in 11 games and earned a selection in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl. He made a 15-yard reception during his debut against Indiana and registered 18 receptions for 264 yards in 13 games. His freshman season was superior to many of Ohio State's all-time greats, including Chris Olave and Marvin Harrison Jr. His best performance was against Purdue he made three catches for 79 yards, including a 55-yard play which was his career-high record. In 2022, at IMG Academy, Tate received 750 yards and scored eight touchdowns in eight games with 20.3 yards per reception.
