CFB insider predicts over $1 million in NIL money for Georgia WR Eric Singleton Jr. after his transfer portal move

The NCAA transfer portal has seen a great influx of players since the window opened on Dec. 9, and Eric Singleton is among the more prominent names among them.

According to ESPN, nearly 2,000 players at the FBS level have already entered the portal. Amid this flurry of activity, a few standout players possess the leverage to command high NIL deals. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets wide receiver is one of those players.

The sophomore wideout, hailing from Douglasville, Georgia, has emerged as one of the most productive receivers in the ACC. He led the Yellow Jackets in receiving yards in both seasons, cementing his reputation as a star pass catcher.

Singleton is now the top-ranked player in the transfer portal, ranking as a four-star transfer by On3 Sports. His transfer decision is expected to bring major attention to his next destination.

According to On3 insider Pete Nakos, Singleton could stand to reel in over $1 million in NIL deals. His list of preferred schools includes LSU, Texas, Auburn, Miami and Ole Miss.

Eric Singleton Jr.: College football career

During his time at Georgia Tech, Eric Singleton Jr. was named All-Atlantic Coast Conference honorable mention twice as a wide receiver. Over two seasons, Singleton recorded nine touchdowns and 1,468 yards on 104 receptions.

In the 2024 season alone, he caught 56 passes for 754 yards, averaging 13.5 yards per catch, and scored three touchdowns. His contributions played a key role in helping Georgia Tech achieve a 7-5 record and finish sixth in the ACC.

Singleton’s consistency began in his freshman year in 2023, when he burst onto the scene with 48 receptions for 714 yards and six touchdowns. His standout debut earned him Freshman All-American honors.

Throughout his college career, Singleton showcased his ability to perform against tough competition, making him a highly sought-after talent in the portal.

Originally a three-star recruit from the Class of 2022, Singleton was ranked as the No. 149 wide receiver and No. 1,072 overall player by 247Sports.

2024 Birmingham Bowl: Georgia Tech vs. Vanderbilt

The 2024 Birmingham Bowl features an exciting matchup between Georgia Tech (7-5) and Vanderbilt (6-6). The game will take place on Dec. 27, at 3:30 p.m. ET at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama.

The bowl game will be broadcast live on ESPN, and it will be the first postseason meeting between the two teams, although they have played 39 times in history.

Georgia Tech holds a 20-15-3 advantage in the all-time series, and it has dominated the Commodores in recent years, going 12-0-1 since 1948. The Yellow Jackets enter the bowl on a six-game winning streak against Vanderbilt, with the most recent matchup in 2016.
