CFB Insider sets the record straight on Quinn Ewers' future amid $4 million transfer rumors

Quinn Ewers is eligible to enter the 2025 NFL draft, and the Texas superstar quarterback might be playing his last games for the Longhorns. With the draft a couple of months away, rumors fly around regarding what prospects are about to do.

One such rumor was that Ewers had a $4 million offer to play for a Big 10 powerhouse in the 2025 college football season. However, college football insider Bobby Burton has emphatically shut down the rumor.

Burton posted on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account,

"Just to be clear: Quinn Ewers is going two places. 1. The college football playoffs. 2. Then, the next stop is the NFL draft. Put an end to the idiots of X. #TheEnd."

Quinn Ewers' landing spots

Here's a look at three potential landing spots for Ewers:

3. New York Jets

The New York Jets are one of those NFL teams that seem to be in a perennial rebuilding phase. Just when it looks like they've figured out their future, they're back with a top-10 pick in the draft.

This season hasn't been any different, as the Jets are set for another top pick despite having a future Hall of Famer in Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Rodgers isn't getting older, so the Jets need to figure out a suitable replacement to hold forth in the best year or two.

Quinn Ewers could be that player due to his ability to operate in a pro-style offense and his experience playing in a win-first program. Ewers could learn from Rodgers for a year or two and become the Jets' very own Jordan Love. The best part is that they won't have to break the bank, as Ewers could be available on Day 2.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are having a phenomenal season with the quarterback duo of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Thanks to their dynamic offense and hard-nosed defense, the team looks set for a deep postseason run.

However, they need to plan for the future because Wilson is on the wrong side of 30, and Fields is set to become a free agent. The 2025 draft will be a great place to pick up a developmental quarterback for pennies on the dollar.

Quinn Ewers can step into Justin Fields' role next season and learn from nine-time Pro Bowler Wilson. Mike Tomlin knows a thing or two about quarterback development, so Ewers can carve out a nice role for himself in Pittsburgh for the next decade.

1. Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are having another forgettable season, and Will Levis' iffy play has exasperated the situation. Levis was drafted early in the 2023 second round to be the Titans' quarterback of the present and future.

However, his performances in 2024 have seen fans call for a chance at QB1. Ewers could be a safe pick by the Titans in the upcoming draft. The Longhorns star can start right away and put them out of the quarterback purgatory of Levis.
