Chase Roberts is a college football wide receiver for the BYU Cougars, representing Brigham Young University in the Big 12 Conference. Born and raised in Highland, Utah, Chase Roberts attended American Fork High School, where he began his football career. Throughout his high school career, he accumulated an impressive 3,709 receiving yards and scored 42 touchdowns, ranking fifth in Utah high school history for receiving yards. His senior year was particularly remarkable; he recorded 97 receptions for 1,770 yards and 22 touchdowns, culminating in a standout performance in the state championship game where he caught 15 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. His achievements earned him first-team All-State honors in both his junior and senior years, along with selection to the prestigious Under Armour All-America Game in 2019. His father, Kyle Roberts, also played football at BYU as a defensive back.

Roberts' performance continued to shine through the following season. In September 2024, he was recognized as the highest-graded wide receiver in the nation by Pro Football Focus (PFF) after an outstanding game against Wyoming, where he recorded six receptions for 129 yards—averaging an impressive 21.5 yards per catch. Roberts has been named to various preseason teams and watch lists, including the Athlon Sports Preseason All-Big 12 Fourth Team and the East-West Shrine Bowl Watch List. Additionally, he has been recognized for his academic achievements, making the Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2023.

Roberts joined BYU as a three-star recruit in the 2019 class but faced challenges early in his college career. After redshirting in 2021 due to injury and serving a two-year mission in Calgary, Alberta, he made his official debut with the Cougars in 2023. His return was marked by significant contributions to the team, quickly securing a spot on the depth chart and becoming a vital part of the offense. In the 2023 season, Roberts began to attract national attention with standout performances. Notably, he earned the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays for a spectacular one-handed touchdown catch against Arkansas. This play not only demonstrated his exceptional catching ability but also highlighted his capacity to perform under pressure during critical game moments.
