Shedeur Sanders reflects on Christmas presents after his parents divorce
The Colorado Buffaloes quarterback opened up about his childhood following his parents' divorce in 2013. Reflecting on split family holidays during a conversation on the "2Legendary" podcast, Shedeur humorously recalled how his father, Deion Sanders, ditched the festive wrapping paper.
“It came in the mail from Amazon … straight brown boxes,” Shedeur said. “Mom and Dad split up, and it was no more gifts wrapped up from Dad.”
Deion Sanders Jr. explained his father’s reasoning, saying:
“He wasn’t about to let anyone take credit for his hard work.”
The Buffs star quarterback acknowledged the role his mother, Pilar Sanders, played in maintaining holiday traditions, contrasting with Deion’s self-proclaimed lack of holiday spirit.
Off the field, Sanders is focused on his NFL aspirations. He is competing with Miami’s Cam Ward for the first quarterback announced during the 2025 NFL draft.
