Cole Hagen is a redshirt freshman, playing for the BYU Cougars. He is from the city of Draper in Utah. He was rated as a three-star recruit by 247sports. He started his career at Corner Canyon High playing as a quarterback. Throughout his high school career, he turned into one of the top-rated high school quarterbacks. It was during his senior year at Corner Canyon High School in 2019 that Hagen came into what was truly his best season. He manifested very high expectations that led the Chargers to an undefeated 14-0 season, winning the class 6A state championship. Hagen was better known as a 'Dual-threat', out-classing 3,655 passing yards with 43 touchdowns, showing how accurate his passes were and making decisions even at an intense level. His intensity on the ground was remarkable, a total of 1,069 yards with 11 touchdowns on 137 carries. It made him one of the highest rated high school quarterbacks nationally, in 2019, recognizing him as the Utah Gatorade Player of the Year. For his career at Corner Canyon, Hagen had 7,065 passing yards, 80 touchdowns, and 1,766 yards on the ground with 20 rushing touchdowns; all without a single loss while playing as a starter.
