One of the biggest and most enduring customs in American sports is bowl season, which occurs in late December and early January. For more than a century, this has been the postseason for college football.
It highlights the larger university and college communities, including spirit squads, marching bands, sports staff, and spectators, while promoting the historic tradition of the bowl system and its appealing value to student-athletes.
The whole 2023–24 college football bowl schedule consists of 43 games. ABC, ESPN, CBS, FOX, and Barstool Sports will broadcast the majority of the games.
On Sunday, December 3, after the regular season and conference championship games, the bowl pairings will be announced. The 2024 College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship is set to take place on Monday, January 8, at NRG Stadium in Houston on ESPN, concluding the Bowl Season.
The 2023–24 Bowl Season will formally begin on Saturday, December 16, with seven games scheduled, starting at 11:00 a.m. ET with the HomeTown Lenders Bahamas Bowl. The Rose Bowl Game and the Allstate Sugar Bowl will host this year's CFP Semifinals on Monday, January 1.
