As the 2024 college football season approaches, it's time to think about some of the top wide receivers.

As much as ever, college football has elite playmakers who can turn any catch into a touchdown. Here are the 10 best wide receivers in the nation heading into the 2024 season.

#10 Caullin Lacy, Louisville

Lacy is an explosive transfer from South Alabama. A year ago, the five-foot-10 senior snagged 91 passes for 1,316 yards and seven scores.

Jeff Brohm has been a coach who knows how to use explosive receivers, and it's safe to assume that Louisville will target Lacy for big plays early and often.

#9 Kevin Concepcion, NC State

Just a sophomore, Concepcion had a phenomenal freshman season. He led NC State with 71 catches for 839 yards and 10 scores.

Unbelivably, he had five multi-TD games as a freshman. With Grayson McCall running NC State's offense, Concepcion could well have a 1,000 yard season in 2024.

#8 Xavier Restrepo, Miami

This venerable senior is talented and experienced. In 2023, Restrepo caught 85 passes for 1,092 yards and six scores.

Last year, he had five 100+ yard games and caught 25 passes in his last three games. Mario Cristobal has upgraded the Miami roster, and Restrepo could be a main beneficiary.

#7 Tony Horton, Colorado State

The six-foot-two Horton emerged as a superstar in 2023 and elected to return to the Rams.

He snagged 96 passes for 1,136 yards and eight touchdowns. Horton opened the season with 45 catches in the Rams' first four games. Jay Norvell would love to get him playing on that level again.

#6 Ricky White, UNLV

A junior, the six-foot-one White had a massive campaign for UNLV in 2023. White caught 88 passes for 1,483 yards and eight touchdowns. Down last season's stretch run, White posted five straight 100+ yard games. He could be the star of UNLV's 2024 season.

#5 Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State

Egbuka comes off a subpar 2023 season but has already showed his phenomenal upside.

The six-foot-one senior hauled in 74 catches for 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2022. He and Marvin Harrison were a phenomenal 1-2 duo that year, and Ryan Day will need Egbuka back at that level if OSU plans to win it all in 2024.

#4 Tez Johnson, Oregon

After toling at Troy, Johnson transferred to Oregon before 2023. The five-foot-10 junior led Oregon with 86 catches, which he turned into 1,182 yards and 10 scores. With new QB Dillon Gabriel, Johnson could reach or even surpass those numbers in 2024.

#3 Tre Harris, Ole Miss

The six-foot-two Harris came in from Louisiana Tech and was a star for the Rebels last fall.

Harris finished with 54 catches for a team-high 985 yards and eight touchdowns. Among the highlights of his season were a 233 yard game and another game with four touchdowns. He's tough, and Ole Miss's hopes of the CFP will lean heavily on him in 2024.

#2 Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona

The six-foot-five junior is the explosive big receiver every team wishes they had. Last season, McMillan caught 90 passes for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He finished the year with four straight 100 yard games, including 266 yards against Arizona State. He will team up with Noah Fifita for a big year again in 2024.

#1 Luther Burden, Missouri

A highly regarded recruit two years ago, Burden showed what all the fuss was about in 2023.

He totaled 86 catches for 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns for a surprising 11-win Missouri team. In an early-season run, Burden posted five consecutive 100+ yard games. With Brady Cook back, he will be the likely best receiver in the nation in 2024.
