The College GameDay experience is rolling in and helping fans get more accustomed to the new extended College Football Playoff format.
With four games taking place in the first round, let's take a deeper dive into what the College GameDay CFP Week 1 schedule looks like.
College GameDay CFP Week 1 schedule and location
Fans will have the entire cast ready to be on television for two different games, meaning two days of College GameDay will be happening. Per ESPN, it's the first time "College GameDay" will have shows on back-to-back days.
The first game they will attend will be on Friday, December 20 in South Bend, Indiana, with the show beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET before the No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers face the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Notre Dame Stadium. The show's set will be located at the Library Lawn.
However, that is not where the CGD experience will end as they will also be on their normal Saturday 9 am ET time slot. For Saturday, they will head to Columbus, Ohio, for the No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers vs. No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes game at Ohio Stadium. The show will be held outside of St. John Arena.
As of this writing, the guest picker for both days has yet to be announced, but when that happens, this article will be updated.
Which teams will Lee Corso be picking with his headgear picks?
Lee Corso's headgear picks have been a staple of the College GameDay scene and there is a bit of a struggle since he has come back on the show after missing a few weeks. He ended the season going 4-3 in his last seven picks and is now 284-142 overall.
However, he can make it up with a good CFP and the first game of Indiana vs. Notre Dame should see him take the Fighting Irish. Indiana has been playing well and were second in the Big Ten but the Notre Dame offense has been clicking, scoring 49+ points in four of their last five games. With the tough schedule that Notre Dame faced, they are equipped to win this game.
The Tennessee Volunteers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes game is a bit of a different story. Ohio State is coming off being embarrassed against the Michigan Wolverines at home to end the regular season but this game is expected to be cold and that benefits the Buckeyes. Ohio State's defensive front can slow down the Tennessee running game so expect the Buckeyes to emerge victorious as well.
