Colt McCoy announced his retirement from football on Monday. McCoy played 14 years in the NFL.
McCoy played four years of college football for the Texas Longhorns but was there for five years as he redshirted his first year. The New Mexico native became Texas' starting quarterback for four seasons
McCoy started 53 games at Texas over four seasons, as he went 45-8 as the starter, throwing for 13,253 yards, 112 touchdowns and 45 interceptions.
Over his successful college career, McCoy has several records at Texas. Some of the records include victories by a freshman, touchdown passes in a game, most plays in a career and most passing attempts.

- Most quarterback victories, 45
- Most quarterback starts, 53
- Most passing yards in a game, season and career
- Most passing attempts in a season, 470, (2009)

- Most touchdown passes in a season and a career
- Most 300-yard passing games in a career, 15
McCoy helped Texas win the national championship in 2006 and was a two-time Heisman finalist.
Colt McCoy joining NBC as an analyst
Following Colt McCoy announcing his retirement from the NFL, McCoy was hired to be an analyst for Big Ten Football coverage. He will serve as a game analyst and will also appear on the Big Ten College Countdown studio show.

McCoy will debut alongside Paul Burmeister (play-by-play) and Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter) for the Colorado Buffaloes vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers game on Sept. 7.
