Weigman began playing high school football at the Bridgeland High School where he was rated a five-star prospect in both football and baseball. Throughout his high school career, Weigman threw for 8,891 yards with 98 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. As a senior, he led Bridgeland to the 6A championship game. In his final season at Bridgeland, Weigman was named the National High School Quarterback of the Year.
The former five-star quarterback from Cypress signed with Texas A&M over offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ole Miss, and TCU among others. In his freshman season, Weigman saw action in five games with four starts and was credited with 896 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and zero receptions. The following season, Weigman endured a foot injury which limited the quarterback to only the first four games of the campaign, and missed the rest of the 2023 campaign.
