After three up-and-down seasons with the Texas A&M Aggies, redshirt sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman announced that he will enter the transfer portal. Coming out of Bridgeland High School as the nation’s No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2022, Wiegman made his college football debut for the Aggies in October 2022.

As a freshman, he threw for 896 yards and eight touchdowns, while going 2-2 as a starter, which included registering an upset against the then-LSU team which was led by Heisman winner Jayden Daniels. After starting his sophomore season 2-1, a foot injury put him out for the season.

Coming off a redshirt year, Weigman struggled in 2024, while even suffering an AC joint injury that led him to miss two games. He threw for 819 yards (56% passing), three touchdowns and five interceptions. Now he is looking for a team, who could use his talents to the fullest and make a positive contribution to his career.

5 teams best suited for Conner Weigman ft. Michigan Wolverines

#5. Colorado Buffaloes

Shedeur Sanders is leaving the college football world to declare for the 2025 NFL draft. Coach Deion Sanders brought back the program to mainstream and they will be searching for a veteran quarterback who can continue the legacy left behind by Shedeur and Travis Hunter. Moreover, they would like the quarterback in 2025 before handing the reigns over to Julian Lewis, the nation's No. 2 recruit.

For Weigman, the Colorado Buffaloes could be a good place to start, learning at the foot of a Pro Football Hall of Famer; however, whether will he go from SEC to play in Big 12 is a big question.

#4. Ole Miss Rebels

One of the reasons why Weigman entered the portal was to get to a playoff-contending team in need of a quarterback. Jaxson Dart is leaving for the NFL, leaving behind a vacant position at the Ole Miss Rebels under center. However, Lane Kiffin also has Austin Simmons and Walker Howard eyeing for the job but if he bets more on experience, then Weigman is their man.

#3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

In the last few years, it's almost like a tradition, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have gotten themselves into where they bet on experienced quarterbacks from Power Four schools to lead their program. If it continues, Conner Weigman is headed to Notre Dame, a regular playoff contender each year.

#2. Miami Hurricanes

Miami Hurricanes starting quarterback Cam Ward put up a great season, leading the team to a 10-2 overall record. However, they couldn't make the playoffs despite that. Nonetheless, Ward will soon put his name for the 2025 NFL draft which means they'll need a resourceful quarterback like Conner Weigman next year.

#1. Michigan Wolverines

Coming off a championship season in 2022 under Jim Harbaugh, Michigan was all flat under new coach Sherrone Moore in 2023. The program finished 7-5 overall, missing the playoffs and conference championship game.

Throughout the year, the program juggled between Davis Warren, Jack Tuttle and Alex Orji at the quarterback position, indicating there's no certainty whether either will be able to retain their job next year.

With the Wolverines, Weigman can always contend for a playoff spot, considering he does well under center.
