Coach Prime was one of the most talked-about coaches last year, with immense support from not only fans but also celebrities like Dwayne the Rock Johnson. However, he also ran into feuds with opposing coaches, including CSU's Jay Norvell.
At the Big 12 media days, the CSU coach was asked about his relationship with Colorado coach Deion Sanders following their infamous beef in the 2023 college football season.
"I don’t have any feelings for Deion Sanders, I really don’t. I don’t think about Deion Sanders unless you guys ask me a question about him. No, nothing’s changed,” Norvell said.
Apart from the viral remarks, Dan Lanning made about the Colorado crew "fighting for clicks," Sanders exchanged words with Norvell.
"I don't care if they hear it in Boulder," Norvell said at the time. "I told them, I took my hat off and I took my glasses off. I said when I talk to grown ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off. That's what my mother taught me. (Colorado's) not going to like us no matter what we say or do."
Deion Sanders didn't like the comment because Jay brought up his mother, which the Colorado State head coach later denied. The whole feud also involved comments from Shedeur Sanders and Jay Norvell's wife:
CFB analyst thinks Colorado can compete for a Big 12 championship game
After Colorado's disappointing 4-8 season in 2023, Deion Sanders has made an effort to change things around ahead of the upcoming 2024 college football season.
The new addition has led analyst Joel Klatt to believe that the Buffaloes are in the mix to compete for the Big 12 Championship game in the upcoming season.
"There's a chance that Colorado's competing to go to the Big 12 Championship Game," Klatt said. "If they were to get in that game, they would be 60 minutes from the College Football Playoff. It's not out of the realm of possibility."
Sanders brought in Hall of Famer Warren Sapp and former Cincinnati Bengals safety coach Robert Livingston to Colorado's coaching staff. Sanders has also recruited five-star Jordan Seaton to Boulder.
Shedeur Sanders got sacked more than 50 times throughout the 2023 season, compared to Oregon's Bo Nix, who got sacked six times. Sanders has addressed this by bolstering the offensive line.
The new offensive line can help Shedeur make more plays and enable the Buffaloes to win more games, or at least win three or four more games.
Fans would be interested to see if Deion Sanders' Colorado can take advantage of the 12-team playoffs and if they'll be able to better their 4-8 record in the 2024 season.
