Dabo Swinney has been the head coach for the Clemson Tigers since 2009. He was a wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 1990–1992. Swinney started out as a graduate assistant from 1993 to 1995 at the University of Alabama. He left Alabama after earning a B.S. Degree in Commerce & Business Administration in 1993 and a Master in Business Administration in 1995. Swinney served as a wide receiver and tight ends coach from 1996-2000 at Alabama. In 2003, Dabo entered Clemson as a wide receivers coach and coached until 2006. In 2007, Dabo became the assistant head coach while being the wide receivers coach. In 2008, Swinney was named the interim head coach, and after a remarkable job, he became the full-time head coach for the Tigers in 2009.

Dabo Swinney is a notable head coach for the Clemson Tigers, he led the team to two national championships in 2016 and 2018. Clemson won eight ACC Championships with ten CFP appearances. His teams played in 20 bowl games with a record of 12-8, including a 6-4 record in CFP Playoffs. Swinney led Clemson to ten ACC Atlantic divisions with a 79.8% winning percentage. Throughout his career at Clemson, Swinney helped 83 players to the NFL Draft from which 18 were picked in the first round.
