Sophomore defensive lineman Damonic Williams is reportedly set to become the newest member of the NCAA transfer portal. He has played two seasons with the TCU Horned Frogs and recorded 60 total tackles (26 solo, 34 assisted) with 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Williams was a 247Sports True Freshman All-American in 2022 and an honorable mention Big 12 selection in 2023, so he will be one of the top defensive players currently in the portal.
There are some intriguing landing spots that he could wind up at, but where are some of the top places he could play in 2024 and potentially beyond that?
5 Damonic Williams Landing Spots
#1 California Golden Bears
The California Golden Bears seem to be the most likely destination, as Damonic Williams originally signed his National Letter of Intent to play with Cal before de-committing and joining the TCU Horned Frogs ahead of the 2022 season. This will be an interesting recruiting tactic the school can use to get him to rejoin the program.

#2 Colorado Buffaloes
The Colorado Buffaloes make a lot of sense for Damonic Williams as well, as the Buffs' defense has struggled, specifically in the second half of the season. He was recruited by the prior coaching staff before Deion Sanders joined the program, but he can be a solid addition in the trenches.
With the team looking to step up on the defensive side of the field and getting new coordinators this season while transitioning to the Big 12, this would be a great fit as he stays in the same league.
#3 Kansas Jayhawks
The Kansas Jayhawks were one of the teams that offered Damonic Williams out of high school, and he would be great there. The team had 26 total sacks last season, and getting Williams paired with sophomore defensive lineman Austin Booker could create a solid defensive line that will get to the quarterback.
#4 USC Trojans
As he is from Mission Hills, California, landing with the USC Trojans will be a little bit of a homecoming for him. The Trojans are attempting to improve their defense after struggling under coach Lincoln Riley in his tenure with the program, but with D'Anton Lynn taking control as defensive coordinator, it would be a great landing spot for Damonic Williams.
#5 Georgia Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs have been trying to recover from losing some key players, and this gives Williams a chance to play for a winning program that is expected to be a threat to winning the national championship in 2024. Coach Kirby Smart will elevate Damonic Williams' draft stock, as he could be a good rotational piece on the defensive line.
