Daniel Green is an American college football player who recently entered the 2024 NFL Draft following his graduation from Kansas State University. Green broke through the team as a full-time starter in 2021 and was a promising linebacker in the 2017 recruiting class. He started his football career at Madison High School where he was regarded as the 10th best inside linebacker in the nation. Green was ranked the No.5 linebacker in the state of Oregon by 247Sports. The three-star prospect from Portland embarked on his collegiate football journey with the Kansas State Wildcats after receiving offers from top programs like Arizona, Colorado, Colorado State, Idaho, Oregon State, Oregon, Ole Miss, and USC.

In his freshman season in 2018, Green did not see any action and redshirted the year. The following year as a redshirt freshman, Green played in 13 games as a reserve linebacker and tallied 34 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks. In his sophomore season, Green was part of the regular rotation and recorded 39 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. But his breakout campaign was in 2021 when Green led the Wildcats in both tackles (89) and tackles for loss (16). In 2022, Green was voted the team captain and started in all 13 games for the Wildcats. He was credited with 58 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, and two sacks which earned him an All-Big 12 Honouree for the second consecutive season. Last season, Green started only the first three games before he suffered a pectoral injury which ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign. Following the conclusion of the 2023 season, Green decided to enter the 2024 NFL Draft instead of applying for a seventh season of college football.
