His performance included three sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, and multiple game-changing plays, such as forcing two fumbles and recovering one. Stutsman led the Big 12 rankings and was placed 15th in the nation for registering 1.3 tackles for loss per game. He was also ranked third in the conference for total tackles per game with 8.7. One of his most impressive performances was a 17-tackle game against SMU where he was named Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week. These accolades set aside Stutsman's legacy as a leading defense leader for Oklahoma.
