The "Big Noon Kickoff" was outside Ohio Stadium Saturday ahead of "The Game" between the Michigan Wolverines and No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes. Former Heisman Trophy winner and current analyst Mark Ingram discussed how he has faith in the Buckeyes winning this game but Michigan alum Charles Woodson had questions.
"It's about pride. It's about taking ownership for these Buckeyes, taking ownership back in this rivalry because it's been five years to this day since the Buckeyes beat the Wolverines. Five years to this day... but today, the Buckeyes have the best roster in football... They're gonna try to hang up 100 on the Wolverines today."
Woodson asked if there was some hometown loyalty but Ingram was a running back for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Michigan vs. Ohio State: Which team has the advantage?
The Wolverines are heading into this game having won three straight in the rivalry. However, the Buckeyes are currently arguably the best college football team in the country while the Wolverines have struggled after capturing the national title last year.
Michigan lost three of its last five games heading into Saturday's contest. Ohio State has the better overall roster as Ingram mentioned, and could secure a spot in the Big Ten title game with a win. The Buckeyes are listed as a 20-point home favorite, according to ESPN Bet.
This is going to be a tough matchup for the Michigan offense as Ohio State has one of the best defensive fronts in the nation. The Wolverines have questions under center as their quarterback play has been unimpressive to say the least. However, the added element of a rivalry game along with Michigan's recent success against Ohio State could keep this contest closer than oddsmakers expect.
