Despite being a Heisman finalist, Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel isn't projected as a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Most mock drafts predict Gabriel will go no earlier than the third round. While his stock could improve in the coming months, he trails other top quarterback prospects.

Top three landing spots for Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel

Although Dillon Gabriel is not expected to go at the top of the draft like Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Miami's Cam Ward, he is still an interesting prospect. He has several elite abilities that could make him an interesting option for some teams.

According to USA Today, Dillon Gabriel is projected as a backup quarterback in a timing-based, West Coast-style offense. With proper development, however, he has the potential to become an NFL starter. Here are three teams where Gabriel could be a good fit.

#3. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams could be an ideal fit, as their quarterback-friendly scheme aligns well with Gabriel's skill set.

Since Gabriel is 23, some teams might be hesitant to draft him, but the Rams have shown a willingness to draft older quarterbacks. For instance, they selected Stetson Bennett, then 25, in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft.

#2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

If Dillon Gabriel is drafted by the Buccaneers, he could learn from another former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback, Baker Mayfield.

Gabriel isn't expected to start right away, as most scouts agree he needs time to develop behind a veteran QB. Mayfield, a former first-overall pick, struggled early in his career but eventually found success in Tampa Bay. He could teach Gabriel the value of patience.

#1. Miami Dolphins

Miami has locked Tua Tagovailoa to a long-term contract and hopes he will be their quarterback for the next decade. However, he has struggled with head injuries, so the Dolphins might look to add some depth at the position.

Getting drafted by the Dolphins would allow Dillon Gabriel to learn behind Tagovailoa, who has proven to be highly effective in the Dolphins offense. Gabriel has excellent timing and accuracy, which is exactly what the Dolphins liked when they drafted Tagovailoa. He is great at throwing to wide receivers that can make plays, and Miami has one of the best in Tyreek Hill.
