The No. 8 Penn State Nittany Lions (2-0) have enjoyed a great start to the 2024 college football season. Coach James Franklin's unit opened its season with a 34-12 win over West Virginia before beating Bowling 34-27 on Saturday.
Does Penn State play today?
The Penn State Nittany Lions do not play on Saturday, Sept. 14, since Week 3 is an off week for them. However, they will resume action against Kent State next Saturday, September 21, at Beaver Stadium in Pennsylvania.
Kent State suffered a 55-24 loss against Pittsburgh in its opening game of the season and then lost 23-17 against St. Francis PA last Saturday. The Golden Flashes will be in action in Week 3 when they travel to face No. 7 Tennessee on Saturday.

Can Penn State Nittany Lions make it to the College Football Playoff?
As things stand, Penn State is in the hunt to reach the College Football Playoff this season. Franklin's team is currently ranked eighth in the country and on course to reach the playoffs.
However, there's still a long way to go in the season and Penn State needs to maintain its winning record to remain in the playoff spots. The Nittany Lions can also reach the playoffs by winning the Big Ten title.
