Dylan Raiola is one of the most hyped quarterback prospects in the NIL era. The Nebraska Cornhuskers signal-caller was their QB1 in his freshman season, and with the year about to end, there are rumors of him getting a big offer to leave the Cornhuskers.
According to NFL Rookie Watch on X (formerly known as Twitter):
"Dylan Raiola could reportedly 'command an insane amount of money' if he entered the transfer portal. There are reportedly several SEC and Big Ten teams that would be 'willing to offer' over $12.5 million to land Raiola as a transfer."
The report went further:
"Raiola is reportedly 'content' with staying in Nebraska with the Cornhuskers. However, if Raiola decided to change his mind, he could receive money to change college football forever."
While the report makes for sensational viewing, it's hard to imagine Raiola abandoning the Nebraska project after just one season. The talented QB had his pick of Big Ten and SEC teams, committing to Ohio State and then Georgia, before signing with Nebraska.
Although the Big Ten and SEC have the upper hand regarding booster money, the Nebraska Cornhuskers aren't short of boosters who'll go the extra mile to keep their treasured quarterback happy.
How did Dylan Raiola perform in his freshman season?
Dylan Raiola received a rude awakening in his first season of collegiate football. The highly touted freshman passed for 2,595 yards, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 12 games during the regular season. He has a 62.5 quarterback rating, the 59th-highest in college football.
Raiola was the undisputed starter in Year 1, so it's unsurprising that he endured some growing pains. He now has much-needed experience that'll do him a world of good as he enters Year 2. Furthermore, the Cornhuskers have accessed what they need to do to put Raiola in a position to succeed. Expect the program to be active in the transfer portal.
What to expect from Dylan Raiola in 2025?
It's expected that Dylan Raiola will jump in productivity next season. Raiola occasionally showed his talents in Year 1, but more is needed in the grand scheme.
The highly touted signal-caller led the Cornhuskers to a 6-6 record, qualifying for the Pinstripe Bowl. It's a step in the right direction, and it's only expected to improve from here.
Of course, Raiola will still have a target on his back in 2025. However, at that point, the Cornhuskers' QB1 will have the tools to evade pressure better and find his pass catchers to ramp up the stats as he eyes a spot in the 2027 NFL draft.
