Defensively, Jacob Merrifield has 2.5 sacks, and CJ Heard has 61 tackles.
Meanwhile, East Carolina is coming off a 56-34 win over Temple two weeks ago, as ECU had an open week last week. The Pirates were up six points at the half, but in the third quarter, ECU outscored Temple 29-7 to get the win. Kaitin Houser threw for five touchdowns in the matchup.
After the win, interim coach Blake Harrell said the focus has already turned to FAU.
"Man, that locker room is awesome. Getting in there and celebrating with those guys," Harrell said, via 247Sports. "It could've looked better, but who cares, it's a win. Just win, baby. Just win. That's what's important.
"Yeah, we'll clean up some stuff next week in the bye week, and we'll get ready for FAU. But right now, let's go celebrate. We all needed that. Our players needed that. Our seniors needed that.
"Everybody in the building needed that one. Pirate Nation needed it. Now we're back to 4-4 with a lot of football to play. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. Let's go do it. When you're celebrating in a locker room, I told the guys, it's not about me, it ain't about them, it's about us.
"When you're celebrating with each other, for each other, that makes that thing special."
ECU is led by Rahjai Harris, who has rushed for 561 yards and four touchdowns. Chase Sowell has caught 30 passes for 553 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Elijah Morris has four sacks and Omar Rodgers has 57 tackles.
The Pirates are clicking and should be able to have success against FAU, which has struggled defensively as of late. ECU is also coming off an open week, so it will be well-rested and prepared for this matchup at home to get a big win here.
