Florida State vs Wake Forest Week 8 Game Preview
The North Carolina school is currently having an average season with an overall record of 4-3. The Demon Deacons have five games remaining and they might be thinking about bowl eligibility.
However, it seems unlikely for them to achieve it as they would have to beat one of their three ranked opponents, namely Florida State, Duke, or Notre Dame. It appears that the Demon Deacons are headed towards a 5-5 or even a worse season.
Florida State defeated the Blue Devils 38-20 at home last week, in a game in which Jordan Travis threw for 268 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. For Duke, quarterback Riley Leonard came back from injury, which would explain his low productivity at 69 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception.
In Week 8, the Demon Deacons got their fourth victory of the year over Pittsburgh. In a 21-17 victory, Wake Forest quarterback Santino Marucci passed for 151 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Interestingly Pitt quarterback Christian Veilleux had a better game, with 302 passing yards and two touchdown passes. However, the Panthers shot themselves in the foot with 13 flags for a cost of 101 yards.
