Florida is a 21.5-point road underdog and the over/under is set at 47.5 points.
The Gators were playing well against the Bulldogs until DJ Lagway got injured. Florida has now lost Graham Mertz and Lagway to injuries and Yale transfer Aidan Warner will likely start.
However, coach Billy Napier hasn't ruled out Lagway playing against Texas.
"Injuries are one of the more challenging parts of the profession, coaching and playing," Napier said on Monday, via USA Today. "The good news is we've had positive information on that front. That is the positive there. We do think the injury is less significant. We do think there is a pathway to a recovery and a return. We have not completely ruled him out. A lot of that is to be determined as we move throughout the week.
"Soft tissue, those are the challenging ones, right? I think the position he plays contributes to that. We're going to exhaust every resource we have. We're very fortunate to have a great group of people who work with our teams. It's really a competitive advantage for our players."
Florida is led by Montrell Johnson Jr., who has rushed for 373 yards and four touchdowns, while Elijhah Badger has caught 24 passes for 560 yards and two TDs.
Defensively, Devin Moore has two picks, Tyreak Sapp has 3.5 sacks and Trikweze Bridges has 41 tackles.
Meanwhile, the Texas Longhorns are led by Quinn Ewers who has thrown for 1,389 yards, 14 TDs and six interceptions. Quintrevion Wisner has rushed for 409 yards and two TDs, while Gunner Helm has 419 yards and four touchdowns.
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian expects a big game against Florida.
“I just don’t want our guys to press,” Sarkisian said on Monday, via A to Z Sports. “We’re plenty good enough and we’ve got good enough players. We have good enough schemes. We’ve got enough balance to be a really electric offensive football team.
“And yeah, we didn’t have a couple great weeks. That’s OK. We’re going to be all right and make sure that we got confidence to go do those things. So I don’t overdo it with them, because I just want them to know I believe in them, here’s why I believe in them and here’s what we’re going to do to ensure opportunities for them to go make some plays.”
With Lagway unlikely to play, the Gators' offense could struggle to move the ball and Texas should be able to cruise to a lopsided win.
Prediction: Texas 34, Florida 10
