Fran Brown is the head coach of the Syracuse Orange football program, as of 2024. Brown assumed the role of the head coach in 2024 and is the 31st head coach of the Syracuse Orange. Prior to the Syracuse Orange, he had stints with the Temple Owls, the Baylor Bears, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and the Georgia Bulldogs.
As of the 2024 season, he has coached the team in 12 games, with a record of nine wins and three losses. Before taking the helm at Syracuse, Brown served as the defensive backs coach at Georgia, contributing to their national championship success in 2022. At Rutgers, his secondary unit was particularly effective, generating 19 turnovers in his first season.
Fran Brown attended Camden High School, where he set a school record as a quarterback with 47 passing touchdowns before transitioning to cornerback at Western Carolina University. There, he earned All-Southern Conference honors and served as team captain. Following his college career, Brown briefly played in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals.
