Garrett Nussmeier is an American college football quarterback who is currently plying his trade with the LSU Tigers over the past three seasons. Nussmeier began playing high school football at the Marcus High School where he was rated a four-star prospect by all major sports outlets. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Nussmeier was ranked No. 13 at his position by ESPN and earned his selection to the 2020 Under Armour All-American game. He concluded his high school career with 8,160 passing yards, 83 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. In his final season at Marcus, Nussmeier led his school to a district title while registering 2,815 passing yards and five interceptions.
The former four-star quarterback from Lake Charles took his football career forward with the LSU Tigers over offers from Arkansas, Arizona State, Colorado, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan State, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt among others. In his freshman season, Nussmeier saw action in only four games and redshirted the season. The following year as a redshirt freshman, Nussmeier appeared in seven games and passed for 800 yards and five touchdowns. Last season, Nussmeier made his first start for LSU against Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

The quarterback from Louisiana signed his first NIL deal earlier in 2022. On December 27, 2022, Garrett Nussmeier signed his first Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with Cheez-It. Nussmeier along with three other players are set to spend a night in a Cheez-It-designed room for the Citrus Bowl contest.
