Have you ever watched college football with someone not familiar with it and they call a team a weird name due to their mascots? Well, that happened with some of the top sportspersons as Lando Norris, George Russell and other F1 drivers took a dive into college football. They were asked by Jess Sims to name the mascots on the pictures.

Many different F1 drivers appeared in the segment but were not quite sure of what they were seeing in terms of college football team mascots. Below is the clip from the segment that aired on ESPN College GameDay as the drivers were tested on their college football knowledge.

This crossover is meant to help create more eyes on the F1 product as a whole while also allowing some of the best drivers in the world to express their personalities.

Allowing the worlds of college football and F1 to intertwine for a few minutes definitely helps and this is a great concept to help cultivate new fans for the Pirelli United States Grand Prix Race. The latter will be aired on ESPN Sunday afternoon from the Circuit of the Americas.

Where is ESPN College GameDay today?

ESPN College GameDay has been a traveling show as they are in different cities every week and head towards the biggest game of the college football slate that week. For Week 8 of the season, the ESPN College GameDay crew is in Austin, Texas, as the fifth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs take on the top-ranked Texas Longhorns.

This game is going to be intriguing as this is the first time that Georgia and Texas are playing against one another as Southeastern Conference foes. This game could be the difference between either program making the SEC Championship Game as both teams are among the top four in the conference.

This game could have a significant impact on how the College Football Playoff shakes up as Texas could continue to solidify their top spot in the college football hierarchy.

However, if Georgia is able to pull off a road upset in this game, it would make the Texas Longhorns drop out of a top-two spot in the SEC standings. It will force them to likely be one of the seven non-auto bids for the College Football Playoff, thus taking away a spot from other programs trying to fight for one of the 12 spots.
