The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs pulled away after a close first quarter, topping the Auburn Tigers in the Week 6 SEC matchup on Saturday. Georgia was looking to make a statement after a Week 5 loss versus the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide but got out to a slow start versus Auburn.
Carson Beck continues to lead the way for the Bulldogs' offense, building his case for the Heisman Trophy with another stellar performance in Week 6. While neither team lit up the scoreboard, Georgia controlled the game from the opening kick-off.

Carson Beck was the superior quarterback with the superior team despite a solid performance from Payton Thorne after being benched versus New Mexico in Week 3.
Thorne was reinserted into the lineup versus Arkansas but quarterback doesn't appear to be the problem for Auburn despite Hugh Freeze's beliefs. Beck threw six incompletions on the day, throwing for 240 yards and two touchdowns in the comfortable win.
Payton Thorne looks to be the clear starter for Auburn, but it may be too little too late for the Hugh Freeze era of Auburn football. Thorne took care of the ball but the Tigers' offense struggled to convert versus one of the best defenses in the country.
Georgia Bulldogs performance analysis
It was another comfortable win for the Georgia Bulldogs after a slow start, leading just 7-3 after the first quarter. Georgia outgained Auburn in yardage, racking up 381 total yards and was more efficient on third down, converting seven of 13 third-down situations.
The Bulldogs' defense bowed their necks on third down, getting the key stops that helped them hold Auburn to just 13 points in the day. Georgia overmatched their SEC counterpart.
Auburn Tigers performance analysis
Auburn's offense moved the ball effectively but folded on third downs, converting on just four of their 13 third-down situations. The Tigers totaled 337 yards of offense and held onto the ball.
Auburn didn't turn the ball over but punted three times and turned the ball over on downs three times. This was an old fashioned big brother-little brother showdown between Georgia and Auburn.
