The Georgia Bulldogs are the favorites to win the national championship, with quarterback Carson Beck returning. Georgia will be favored in every game this season, but that doesn't mean there aren't games that could test the Bulldogs.

Ahead of the 2024 college football season, here are three games that could test Georgia's capability of winning the national title.

3 rugged rivals who could test Georgia's Carson Beck's mettle to contend for NCAA title

#1. Alabama, Sept. 28

The Alabama Crimson Tide ended the Georgia Bulldogs' hope of winning a three-time national championship last season by defeating them in the SEC Championship. Georgia now gets a rematch on the road against Alabama on Sept. 28.

Alabama gave Beck problems last season, as in the SEC Championship game, he did not throw a touchdown and only threw for 243 yards.

In the next matchup, Georgia is a 4.5-point favorite to defeat Alabama.

#2. Texas, Oct. 19

The Texas Longhorns made the college football season last season and entered 2024 as one of the top contenders for the national title.

The Longhorns are also now an SEC team and the Bulldogs will have to go to Austin to play Texas on Oct. 19. It will be a crucial game to see who will likely be the frontrunner to play in the SEC Championship Game.

The Longhorns also have one of the best secondary units in college football, which could force turnovers against Beck.

Georgia enters the game as a slight two-point favorite, but it is, on paper, one of the more evenly matched games and whoever wins will be in a great spot to play in the SEC Championship game.

#3. Ole Miss, Nov. 9

It just so happens that the Georgia Bulldogs' hardest games on the schedule are on the road, as on Nov. 9, Georgia plays the Ole Miss Rebels in a highly anticipated matchup.

However, Georgia's head coach, Kirby Smart, says they are embracing the challenge of the road games

"Yeah, initially I was wondering how I got that draw, but we’re not one to complain. We’re one to be excited. I think when you step into the shoes of a University of Georgia football player, you accept that challenge is going to be there. I mean, we kind of embrace that and we love it," Smart said, via Yoursportsedge.

Along with being on the road, Ole Miss' defense should be much improved this season. Last season, they held Beck to 306 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Ole Miss has been active in the transfer portal but is a 7.0-point underdog in this matchup.
