Georgia State vs Marshall: Preview

Georgia State is a nine-point underdog on the road, while the over/under is set at 52 points.
The Panthers have lost back-to-back games and are coming off a 21-14 home loss to Old Dominion. Although the loss was disappointing, coach Dell McGee said he was happy with his team's effort and the fact that they never gave up.
“The kids never gave up,” McGee said, via Atlanta Journal-Consitution. “They kept their spirits up, even being down by 14 when the game looked like it was out of hand and made the necessary plays to give us an opportunity to win. Told our guys in the locker room that you’re going to look back at the game film, there’s going to be about five or six plays that, if it goes the other way, it’s probably a different result.”
Georgia State's quarterback, Christian Veilleux, has thrown for 1,284 yards, nine touchdowns, and five interceptions this season. The running has been subpar this season, but Ted Hurst leads the way with 434 yards and five touchdowns.
Defensively, Kenyatta Watson leads the way with two interceptions, Kevin Swint has four sacks, and Xavier Robinson has 35 tackles.
Marshall, meanwhile, is coming off a 24-23 loss to Georgia Southern. The result meant the Thundering Herd are 3-0 at home but conversely 0-3 on the road this season.
"It's a great learning lesson," Marshall Football coach Charles Huff said, via the team website. "When you don't take advantage of opportunities to put teams away in this league and you let them hang around, this is what you get. Hopefully, we learn from it. Way too many missed opportunities. The things we didn't do in games we were successful – turnovers, penalties – showed up today."
Marshall is led by running back A.J. Turner - who rushed for 540 yards and two touchdowns, and Christian Fitzpatrick - 299 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Jacobie Henderson (two interceptions), Mike Green (eight sacks), and Jaden Yates (55 tackles) are the key players.
The Thundering Herd will look to continue their unbeaten streak at home by securing a big win against Georgia State, which is struggling on defense.
Prediction: Marshall 34, Georgia State 27
