Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders put in another dominant performance during the Buffaloes' 34-7 demolition of the Arizona Wildcats in Week 8 of college football action. Shedeur went 25-of-33 for 250 yards, resulting in two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding a rushing touchdown.
Shedeur has been fairly consistent since he arrived in Boulder with his father, Deion Sanders from Jackson State. He started the 2023 season on fire with electrifying performances against the TCU Horned Frogs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers to announce himself on the FBS stage.
In November 2023, Shedeur Sanders surpassed the 10,000 career passing yards mark with a pass to Buffs tight end Michael Harrison. The feat was accomplished in the Buffs' 34-31 loss to the Arizona Wildcats. His ever-supportive mother, Pilar Sanders, celebrated the eye-catching statistical achievement through an Instagram post.
The post with a Shedeur graphic was captioned:
"SON!!! CONGRATULATIONS BABY!!!!! and there are 2 more season games left! GO @shedeursanders @cubuffsfootball #shedeursanders #proudmom - OH YEAH AND THIS WAS AT HALFTIME!" Pilar Sanders wrote.
Despite the Colorado Buffaloes struggling towards the tail end of the 2023 season, Shedeur Sanders more than held his own and finished the 2023 season with 3,230 passing yards on 69.3% completion, resulting in 27 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Shedeur Sanders compared to Steph Curry due to passing range
Shedeur Sanders is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in college football with his strong arm and eye-catching statistics and after leading the Colorado Buffaloes to a strong start to the 2024 college football season, he is garnering a lot of attention.
During this week's ESPN "College Football" show, analyst Jason Aidoo compared the quarterback to Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry due to their similar passing abilities.
"One thing I have said about Shedeur, obviously it helps when you have a great quarterback," Aidoo said. "He reminds me of Steph Curry in terms of when that ball goes up in the air, you feel really confident that it's going to be on target and not only is he able to make target-on-target throws, check out how he uses his legs."
Shedeur Sanders has continued in the same vein this season and has registered 2,268 yards on 72.2% completion resulting in 19 touchdowns and six interceptions to further boost his draft stock ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
