Graham Mertz is a quarterback for the Florida Gators and played his final year of eligibility in the 2024-25 season. Mertz hails from Overland Park, Kansas, and graduated from Blue Valley North High School. He was the recipient of the 2018 Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year and was considered a four-star quarterback recruit in the nation by ESPN, 247Sports, and Rivals as per the Gators website. Mertz began his collegiate career at Wisconsin in 2021 and played four seasons for the Badgers before transferring to the University of Florida in 2023.

Graham Mertz's most remarkable achievements were during his time at Wisconsin Badgers. He set the program records for consecutive passes without an interception, throwing 239 passes in a season. In 2020, against Illinois, he successfully made 20 passes out of 21 attempts for 248 yards and five touchdowns which tied Wisconsin's single-game touchdown record. In 2023 for the Florida Gators, he set a season record of throwing 261 passes to register 2,903 yards for 20 touchdowns, with 72.9% passing efficiency. Throughout his collegiate career, he has passed for 9,099 yards with 64 touchdowns and 31 interceptions (via Sports Reference).
