Nick Saban's daughter Kristen has opened up on her dad's bond with her son, James. Nick and his wife, Terry, have been married for over 50 years and have adopted two children, Nicholas and Kristen.
Nicholas Saban is married to business development specialist Samira Saban, who's often seen at Alabama gamedays and also showed up to support her father-in-law as he accepted the Icon Award at the ESPY 2024 Awards.
Kristen Saban tied the knot with Adam Setas in 2015. She had known Setas since they were five and living opposite each other in East Lansing, Michigan. The two later reconnected in college while studying at Alabama and officially began dating in 2013.
Between the two children, coach Saban has three grandchildren, Nicholas' daughter, who is the eldest, and Kristen's children, Amelie and James.
During an interview with Lance Taylor on "The Next Round" in June 2024, Kristen Saban talked about how Nick Saban enjoys being a grandfather and his time with his grandson James:
"He's great with Jamie. I think it's fun for him, because I have a niece. She's 10 years old, and she was the first grandchild and she was a girl, but now that we have James, he's the boy, and my dad can play, you know, T ball with him in the driveway, and throw a ball with him and do kind of all the boy stuff. So that's kind of softened him up a little bit, in my opinion. And I think he really, really enjoys it." (16:10)
